Dreamworld
The Dreamworld project focuses on two elements: the process of dreaming (and sleeping) and the randomness of the dream itself.
The video shows different stages of falling asleep, interrupted with the moments of being awake. The original sounds of the space were left purposely to mimic the usual surroundings. The intermediate images and sounds were used repeatedly to show the predictability of the process. The position of the body is unsettled at first. Only the further we go into the dreamworld, the body is fully there.
The surrounding is set, while the dreaming itself is shown as something unpredictable. It can work in waves or flashes but can slowly build up its power as well. I wanted to show that the dreams are not only happening in our heads, but also involve the whole body: they are built upon what we already know, how we feel and who we are.
